The Year of the Clubs was theme of the 2010 Tractor World Show at Malvern, acknowledging the part played by the various preservation societies in the tractor movement. And those clubs that took part pulled out all the stops with some wonderful displays and dioramas.
Attracting much attention was the magnificent wartime tableau staged the North Worcestershire Vintage Tractor & Engine Club, complete with Fordson tractors, Land Army girls and Home Guard volunteers. A lot of work also went into the Leominster Vintage Tractor Club’s ‘Old Forge’ – an extremely realistic recreation of a village blacksmith’s shop complete with the anvil, tools, junk and general detritus – not forgetting the sooty blacksmith and his grimy helper!
Held at the Three Counties Showground over the weekend of March 6th-7th, the event attracted large crowds, particularly on the Saturday when H J Pugh’s auction was an added draw. With over 250 tractors exhibited at the show, there was plenty of rare machinery on site from early veterans to late classics.
